Book Review

Let's Look Together

Let's Look Together is an indispensable picture book and communication tool designed for people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of memory loss. The book is printed on heavy-duty, super-glossy paper so it can hold up to lots of use. Each page contains a single color photo of a child or baby with a specific expression on his/her face.  The photos help to foster positive feelings and interactions.

Author Rae-Lynn Cebul Ziegler says the shared activity of looking through the pages of the book carries no sense of right or wrong, which encourages the person with a cognitive defect to freely share his or her responses to the photograph.

This is a brilliant idea and a wonderful gift to both the care-receiver and the caregiver. It is also a great tool for use in group settings, at home, or in a residential care setting.

Please note: The publisher, Health Professions Press, sent me a complimentary review copy of this book. I encourage all Alzheimer's caregivers to share this book with your loved-one. You will be pleasantly surprised with the response you get.
